In the morning, we continue to visit:
– Koh Ker group temple is a remote archaeological site in northern Cambodia about 120 kilometers
(75 mi) away from Siem Reap and the ancient site of Angkor. It is a jungle filled region that is sparsely
populated. More than 180 sanctuaries were found in a protected area of 81 square kilometers (31 sq mi).
– Beng Mealea temple is waiting to be rediscovered by the adventurous travelers. The sprawling jungle temple covering over one square kilometer is largely over-run by vegetation. Constructed in a distinct
Angkor Wat style, Beng Melea preceded and may have served as a prototype of sorts for Angkor Wat.
